OSTOMY ASSOCIATION OF METRO DENVER SUPPORT GROUP
The Ostomy Association of Metro Denver, Inc. is a FREE support group and educational forum for ostomates and their families and friends! Our group is a long-standing collection of ostomates supporting ostomates. Our mission is to provide support to members through meetings and a newsletter that helps to answer questions members may have about their ostomy.
Each support group meeting is two hours long; the first hour is comprised of a different outside speaker every month. These speakers include; colorectal and urostomy surgeons, dietitians, product representatives, physical therapists, motivational speakers, and other subjects that are of interest to our members. The second half of the meeting includes an open forum of questions and answers.
Our membership includes brand new ostomates, as well as veteran ostomates . This interaction allows the veterans to provide information and support for the new ostomate about any questions they may have. The meetings are private, non-judgmental and provide time for sharing of emotional feelings, and receive support from members who have traveled the ostomy journey.
The Ostomy Association of Metro Denver is an Affiliated Support Group of the United Ostomy Associations of America. We meet monthly on the 4th Tuesday of the month currently online thru Zoom or in-person at Porter Hospital Twin Peaks Conference Room (Resumed)
